Partial — Child Safety Standards
Last updated: 4 October 2026
Partial is a dating app for adults in Canada. Nobody under 18 may use it. We do not tolerate child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) of any kind, and this page sets out what we prohibit, how we keep minors off Partial, and what we do when we find abuse.

1. What is prohibited
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind — photographed, filmed, drawn or generated.
- Any content that sexualises a minor, including in text.
- Contacting, grooming or soliciting a minor, sextortion, and trafficking.
- Using Partial while under 18, or helping someone under 18 to use it.
Content breaking these rules is removed and the account responsible is permanently removed. We report it to the authorities as described in section 4.
2. Keeping minors off Partial
- Date of birth at sign-up. Anyone who gives a date of birth under 18 cannot create an account.
- A live face check for every account. Before anyone can use Partial they complete a live video selfie that confirms they are a real person present at the camera. The same check estimates the person's apparent age. When it suggests the person may be under 18, the account is referred to our team, and when it suggests they are clearly under 18 the account cannot use Partial until a person has reviewed it.
- Photos of the account owner. Every dating profile must carry at least three photos that our face check confirms show the account owner, so a profile cannot be built from somebody else's pictures. An account in Wingman only, which has no dating profile and can be found only by its friends, carries one picture instead, and a face in it must still be the owner's.
- Accounts found to belong to a minor are deleted, and we bar the device from creating another.
3. Moderation and in-app reporting
- Automatic screening. We screen photos and text automatically. Sexually explicit content is not allowed on Partial at all.
- Report in the app. Every profile, chat, message, photo and opinion has ⋮ → Report. Choose "They may be under 18" for anything involving a minor. This is our highest-priority category: the content is usually hidden while a person reviews it, and we aim to act on every report within 24 hours. The person you report is not told.
- Block. You can block anyone from their profile or a chat, which takes effect immediately.
4. Reporting to the authorities
We comply with Canada's child protection laws, including the Act respecting the mandatory reporting of Internet child pornography by persons who provide an Internet service. When we become aware of child sexual abuse material or exploitation on Partial, we:
- remove it and permanently remove the account responsible;
- preserve the related information as the law requires;
- report it to Cybertip.ca, Canada's national tipline, operated by the Canadian Centre for Child Protection;
- notify the police where there are reasonable grounds to believe an offence has been committed; and
- cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement.
